Living with Purpose

We all know someone, or know of someone, who we would say died a premature death.  The first time I can remember thinking to myself that a person was too young to die was when I was in jr. high school.  I had a friend named Brian, who was accidentally killed when he and his cousin were messing around with his grandpa’s shotgun.

The Bible speaks to the fact that life is short.  James 4:14 says, “How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog–it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.”

Brian didn’t plan to die as a 12 year old boy.  The truth of the matter is this life is short, and we aren’t guaranteed another moment.  If we’re not intentional about how we live our lives, we’ll wake up one day and realize we’ve wasted a lot of time–perhaps an entire lifetime.

You don’t have to live life without meaning or purpose.  God has a bigger plan for you, and it revolves around a relationship with him through his Son, Jesus.
