I taught out of Isaiah 53, which is a prophecy that speaks specifically to what Jesus would encounter as he accomplished God’s plan to redeem mankind to himself through his death and resurrection.
We also gave away gift certificates for tattoos as a way to recognize the fact that we have been Marked to Make a Difference! You can listen to and/or download this week’s message, and others, by clicking HERE.
The first week of our new teaching series, NC Ink, was one for the books. Not only did we talk about what the Bible says about tattoos, but we did it twice! Last Sunday was the first week we began offering 2 identical worship experiences (9:00 AM and 10:30 AM), and it was amazing!
In fact, we had the 2nd highest attendance in the history of New Church last Sunday, but more importantly, 4 people indicated that they placed their faith in Jesus for salvation! In less than 9 months of existence, our church has seen 70 people cross the line of faith! All glory goes to God!
If you live in the Winston-Salem area, we would be honored to have you as our guest during this teaching series as we talk about how we have been Marked to Make a Difference! Click HERE if you would like to listen to and/or download last Sunday’s message.
This coming Sunday, we’re launching a brand new teaching series at New Church called “NC Ink.” As a way to emphasize the fact that we have been Marked to Make a Difference, we will be providing opportunities for people to win gift certificates for tattoos—real tattoos.
I understand that some people don’t approve of the methods we use to reach people far from God, but my prayer is that as a result of this teaching series, we will have opportunities to help those who wouldn’t normally step foot in a church.
In addition to launching this new series, we are also adding a 2nd worship experience. Instead of meeting at 10:00 AM, we will provide 2 identical worship experiences, one at 9:00 AM and the other at 10:30 AM. Check out the teaser video for NC Ink below, and we would be honored to have you as our guest at New Church on Sunday!
We ended our first ever New Church at the Movies teaching series last Sunday with a look at one of the most popular Disney movie series of all time, Pirates of the Caribbean. In Pirates 4: On Stranger Tides, Jack Sparrow and his pirate nemeses are in search of the fabled Fountain of Youth.
Their passionate pursuit of the fountain has everything to do with their desire to live forever. God created us with eternity in mind, and his Word is clear about something extremely important that affects EVERY single one of us: “Everyone Experiences Eternity Somewhere!”

Last Sunday, during Wk. 3 of our current teaching series, New Church at the Movies, we looked at truth from the Bible as it relates to the movie, “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.”
As you may have guessed by the movie, the topic was greed, and we found out from Scripture that greed is wrong because not only is it idolatry, but it also goes directly against the character of God.
Greed is something we all deal with on some level, but I’ve found that “Giving Generously Guards Against Greed.” You can listen to Sunday’s message by clicking HERE.
Last Sunday, during Wk. 2 of New Church at the Movies, we looked for truth in the entertainment franchise known as Transformers. In Romans 12:1-2, those of us who have a relationship with God through Jesus are commanded to be transformerd as we allow God to change the way we think.
This type of transformation is a continual process that takes place as a result of God’s Spirit working in, and through, us as we are actively involved in spiritual disciplines such as reading the Bible, prayer, serving others, etc. But it’s not information alone that brings about transformation. We have to put the things we know and learn into practice. “Application leads to Transformation!”

The first week of our New Church at the Movies teaching series paid homage to the A-Team. One of my favorite television shows of all time was made into a movie in 2010, and it did not disappoint, at least not me.
One cool thing about the A-Team is that it was made up of 4 different guys, with 4 different skill sets, but when they came together, they accomplished their mission.
The church should be like that. We’ve all been given gifts, and when we put those gifts to use in the local church, everyone wins. However, “Everyone loses when you refuse to use your gifts.”
