My Favorite Person in the World

July 8, 2011 3 comments

Today is my wife Wendy’s birthday.  She is my favorite person in the world, and below are just a few of the reasons why (addressed to her):

  • You love Jesus more than anything else in this world.
  • You are the closest example I know of to the type of woman the Bible describes in Proverbs 31.
  • You are a dedicated wife to me and a caring and loving mother to our girls.
  • You gave up your dream home and the opportunity to live near your family in order to move to Winston-Salem and help me start New Church.
  • You care about people more than things.
  • You are beautiful, fun, and your smile brightens a room.
  • You laugh at my jokes.

Those are just a few of the reasons my wife is my favorite person in the world.  There are more, but those will remain private.

Happy Birthday, Wendy!  I love you with all of my heart, and I am so grateful to God for giving you to me!

Want any easy way to remember everything?  Try Evernote.  I’ve been using it for a few months now, and I highly recommend it.

I don’t always have a pen and paper with me, but because I have the Evernote App on my phone, I can record ideas anywhere.  When I save what I record, it automatically syncs the information with my Mac.

And as an added bonus, it’s free!

Back from Vacation

July 29, 2010 Leave a comment

Last night, our family returned home to Winston-Salem from our summer vacation. We decided to spend some time with family and friends in Jacksonville, FL prior to the big push we’ll be making to develop our team and launch New Church.

We had a luau, spent some time at the pool, and enjoyed some good food, as always.

Although it’s good to get away, it’s always nice to return home. We have a lot to look forward to as we to take the next step in this church planting journey. I’m grateful for God’s grace and goodness in my life, and I can’t wait to see what he has in store for our future!

Happy Birthday, Whitney!

Monday was my youngest daughter, Whitney’s 9th birthday. We celebrated this special occasion by having a luau with lots of family, lots of food, and lots of fun.

It’s hard to believe you’re already 9 years old. I’m so proud of the young lady you are becoming. I’m grateful for the creative abilities God has given you, and I pray you will continue to use them to point people to Jesus. More than anything else, I pray you will love God with all of your heart, soul, mind, and strength. Happy Birthday! I love you!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Happy Birthday to my dad, Ted Ward!  The picture to the left was taken back when I coached high school football.  He was always my biggest fan when I played football in high school and college, and when I coached for that matter.  I’m proud of my dad, and I’m grateful for how he taught me to provide for my family .  Happy 75th, Pops!  I love you, man!

Happy Birthday, Wendy!

Today is my wife, Wendy’s, birthday.  She is an amazing wife, an incredible mother, and I am grateful to God for bringing her into my life.

When I think of how best to describe her, Proverbs 31:10-31 seems most appropriate.

Thank you for making your relationship with God the most important thing in your life!  I’m honored to be your husband, and I look forward to celebrating many more birthdays with you in the years to come.  I love you with all of my heart!

Declaration of Liberation

July 6, 2010 1 comment

A little over 2,000 years ago, a man named Jesus, who was just beginning his public ministry, made a declaration of independence that would not only impact the freedom of a nation, but would have the potential to provide liberation to every person who would ever walk the face of the earth from that point forward.

That declaration is found in Luke 4:16-21.

If we are ever going to find satisfaction and fulfillment in this life, we have to understand and embrace the truth that a relationship with God through Jesus Christ is the only way to experience true and lasting freedom.
